John 10:22-42

22 Ἐγένετο δὲ τὰ ἐγκαίνια ἐν τοῖςἹεροσολύμοις·
And it was then (tote missing but in GNT) the feast of dedication (renewal) in Jerusalem it was 
 χειμὼν ἦν· 
winter. 
23 καὶ περιεπάτει ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ
And Jesus walked in the temple
 ἐν τῇ στοᾷ Σολομῶνος. 
en the porch of Solomon
24 ἐκύκλωσαν²⁹ οὖν αὐτὸν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι 
And the Jews surrounded him and 
καὶ ἔλεγον αὐτῷ· ἕως πότε
And said to him, "How then  
τὴν ψυχὴν ἡμῶν αἴρεις; εἰ σὺ εἶὁ Χριστός, 
are our souls raised? literal but judgement as to actual meaning. probably how long will you kee us wondering?  If you are the one, the Christ
εἰπὸν ἡμῖν παρρησίᾳ. 
They said to him bodly. 
25 ἀπεκρίθη ὁ Ἰησοῦς· εἶπον ὑμῖν, καὶ οὐ πιστεύετε· 
Jesus answered, " I answer you and you believe not."
τὰ ἔργα ἃ ἐγὼ ποιῶ ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι τοῦ πατρός μου, 
The work which I do in the name of my Father,
ταῦτα μαρτυρεῖ περὶ ἐμοῦ· 
these witness concerning me.
26 ἀλλὰ ὑμεῖς οὐ πιστεύετε,ὅτι οὐκ ἐστὲ ἐκ 
but you do not believe, 
τῶν προβάτων τῶν ἐμῶν. 
because  you are not be my sheep. 
27 τὰ πρόβατα τὰ ἐμὰ τῆς φωνῆς μου ἀκούουσιν,
The my sheep hear my voice 
κἀγὼ γινώσκω αὐτά, καὶ ἀκολουθοῦσίν μοι, 
and I know them, and they follow me
28 κἀγὼ δίδωμι αὐτοῖς ζωὴν αἰώνιον, 
and I give them everlasting life, 
καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀπόλωνται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, 
and they may not be destroyed into the ages
καὶ οὐχ ἁρπάσει τις αὐτὰ ἐκ τῆς χειρός μου. 
and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.
29 ὁ πατήρ ὃ δέδωκέν μοι πάντων μεῖζόν ἐστιν,
The Father who has given them to me is greater than all,
 καὶ οὐδεὶς δύναται ἁρπάζειν ἐκ τῆς χειρὸς
and no one is able to snatch them out of the hand of 
 τοῦ πατρός. 
the Father.
30 ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἕν ἐσμεν. 
I and the Father are one.
31 Ἐβάστασαν πάλιν λίθους οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι 
The Jews bear again stones 
ἵνα λιθάσωσιν αὐτόν. 
in order to stone Him.
32 ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς,
Jesus  answered them
 πολλὰ ἔργα καλὰ ἔδειξα ὑμῖν 
many good works have I showed to you 
ἐκ τοῦ πατρός· διὰ ποῖον αὐτῶν ἔργον ἐμὲ λιθάζετε; 
from the Father, for which of them (those) works are you stoning me. 
33 ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῷ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι· 
The Jews answered Him
περὶ καλοῦ ἔργου οὐ λιθάζομέν σε 
concerning good work we do not stone you 
ἀλλὰ περὶ βλασφημίας, καὶ ὅτι σὺ
but because of Blaspheme, and that you
 ἄνθρωπος ὢν ποιεῖς σεαυτὸν θεόν. 
being a man make yourself God.
34 ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· οὐκ ἔστιν 
Jesus answered them, Is it not 
γεγραμμένον ἐν τῷ νόμῳ ὑμῶν ὅτι ἐγὼ εἶπα·
written in the your law that I say
 θεοί ἐστε; 
you are gods?
35 εἰ ἐκείνους εἶπεν θεούς, πρὸς οὓς ὁ λόγος 
if he called them gods, to those whom the word of 
ἐγένετο τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ οὐ δύναται λυθῆναι ἡ γραφή· 
god came, and the scriptures are not able to be broken, 
36 ὃν ὁ πατὴρ ἡγίασεν καὶ ἀπέστειλεν 
whom the Father sacrificed and sent 
εἰς τὸν κόσμον ὑμεῖς λέγετε ὅτι βλασφημεῖς, ὅτι εἶπον·
into the world, you say that is Blaspheme, because I said, 
 υἱὸς θεοῦ εἰμι; 
I am the son of God?
37 εἰ οὐ ποιῶ τὰ ἔργα τοῦ πατρός μου, μὴ πιστεύετέ μοι· 
If I do not do the works of my Father, you do no believe me.
38 εἰ δὲ ποιῶ, κἂν ἐμοὶ μὴ πιστεύητε, τοῖς ἔργοις πιστεύετε, 
But if I do, yet you do not believe me. Believe the works!
ἵνα γνῶτε καὶ γινώσκητε ὅτι ἐν ἐμοὶ ὁ πατὴρ κἀγὼ
because you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I 
 ἐν τῷ πατρί. 
am in the Father. 
39 Ἐζήτουν οὖν αὐτὸν πιάσαι, καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῶν. 
They desired again to seize him, and he went out of the their hand
40 Καὶ ἀπῆλθεν πάλιν πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου 
And he came again across the Jordan 
εἰς τὸν τόπον ὅπου ἦν Ἰωάννης τὸ πρῶτον βαπτίζων, 
into the place where John was first baptizing
καὶ ἔμεινεν ἐκεῖ. 
and he remained there. 
41 καὶ πολλοὶ ἦλθον πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ 
and many were coming to him and 
ἔλεγον ὅτι Ἰωάννης μὲν σημεῖον ἐποίησεν 
they said that John on the one hand did no miracles
οὐδέν, πάντα δὲ ὅσα εἶπεν Ἰωάννης περὶ τούτου ἀληθῆ ἦν. 
but all things as many as John said concerning this one was true. 
42 καὶ πολλοὶ ἐπίστευσαν εἰς αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ.
and many believed in him there.
